For the love of my parrots, I take them outside on a regular basis, an active parrot is happier and better adjusted.
We go for walks, bike rides, even ride together on a flotation cushion with a small portable birdstand, floating in the pool, but never without the proper safety precautions.
We never go outside without a safety harness and leash, care is taken so the bird is always protected from temperature extremes, and kept safe from anything that might harm him.
Inside the home, essential bird supplies, in addition to their staple food diet that is a mixture of Harrisons Bird Food, ZuPreem, and Lafeber's Nutri-Berries Parrot Food. A good variety of bird toys, are kept not only in their bird cages, but attached to the various bird stands, that are free standing or hanging from the ceiling.
A parrot that is well fed, gets lots of attention, and is allowed to be active will be a happy bird.
A happy parrot makes a better pet.
